Tootsie started whelping at 12:20 a.m. & finished at 5:50 p.m. Everyone tired out, puppies all ok |

Tootsie vomiting in early a,m,, off her food and hot.
Tried to contact vet 08:00hrs, eventually he arrived about 14:00. He confirmed temperature 103°F and gave Tootsie shot of antibiotic + some Synulox tablets for next day. Also advised Waltham's Canine Veterinary Diet (CVD) to try to regain her appetite.
Sue Craigie (Kip (CH Imbali Kipenzi JW)'s mum) arrived just before the vet, she kindly checked the pups for Dermoid Sinus - all clear, will have to be checked for this frequently. Persuaded Tootsie to eat a tin of CVD. |

Tootsie only vomited once early a.m., appears to be responding to treatment, temperature down.
07:30 Managed to persuade her to eat three spoonfuls of CVD with tablets included! She refused any more. Started eating about 09:00 with 2oz Cheddar cheese, bread & butter, some CVD, Complan. Started supplementary feeding puppies with Welpi (puppies each have some from mum and top up from bottle) Puppies weighed, total weight now 14Lb 14oz (6,747gms) each had gained at least 1oz.(28gms). |

Tootsie much brighter in herself though still reluctant to eat, Puppies responding well to supplementary feeding, all happy. One puppy (we call her pawpaw) had her foot injured soon after birth, we think Tootsi's toe nails cut it, she is receiving a few drops of antibiotic/day to overcome any infection. |

Tootsie still reluctant to eat. She seems to like Beta Bravo and Waltham's Pedigree Advance Junior Maxi, she still requires complan etc. as before

Tootsie's eating better. Butcher's Tripe & Beef (although from past experience too much of this gives her 'the runs') is now acceptable as well as Beta Bravo and Waltham's Pedigree Advance Junior Maxi etc. puppies all look full & happy. Pawpaw's foot is appears to be healing well

Tootsie starting to eat minced beef again, this used to be her favourite! She is also having 3 teaspoons of metatone daily as a tonic. |

One puppies eyes half open. Grandma is doing a heroic job bottle feeding, her nursing experience of human babies is obviously an advantage. All puppies get some Whelpi. |

Tootsie is at last eating something like enough to produce more milk. |

Took pawpaw & tootsie to see Mark, the vet in Ashford. He examined them in the car park to reduce risk of Pawpaw catching anythting from other dogs in the surgery.
Pawpaw's foot progressing well, Tootsie has a small lump in next to last mammary probably blocked duct will check after this lactation |

Tootsie is eating much more and producing more milk, though not enough for all the puppies all the time. When we go to bed about midnight, she is left with one pup, then about 4 a.m. she comes upstairs to wake us and is let outside, while the one puppy is removed from her bed and replaced by six others, who are waiting for mum when she comes in. They are left on for twenty minuits and replaced with the last six, which remain with her for the rest of the night. At breakfast time, the first lot of puppies have their supplementary feed, followed by those still with Tootsie. |

Nice sunny day. All puppies go outside in their wheelie bins to enjoy the sunshine and wait their turn to be weighed and photographed. All are between 207% to 250% of their birthweight. |

The past week has settled into a routine. Tootsie is eating more and has even put on weight. Puppies just starting Advance Puppy feed, which is like a thick soup and they seem to like it! All puppes were weighed today and average 4 times their birthweight at 18 days old. |

Puppies were three weeks old on Tuesday
As the puppies are doing so well, We are now making appointments for anyone who has booked a puppy, to visit after 22 October to choose their puppy, please email or telephone.
Thursday, Sue Craigie, (Kip's breeder) kindly came over and checked all puppies for Dermoid Sinus - All OK! She also brought some Best Quality minced beef for the puppies which they ate raw, um yummy!
On Friday we had to go to Brighton and took the opportunity to visit LEANDER INTERNATIONAL PET FOODS LTD, the manufacturers of Arden Grange high quality pet food. We collected fresh supplies of Arden Grange chicken puppy food, which the puppies relish and keep asking for more. |

Panic stations on Tuesday! Parceline had not delivered Arden Grange food on Monday. After much chasing by Arden Grange on Tuesday, Parceline eventually arrived at 6.45p.m., having converted a scheduled 3 day delivery to a week. These puppies really are eating well now.
On Friday, all puppies moved from whelping box to the conservatory, where they can run & chase each other freely.More puppy photos

Puppies are all doing well, Kinsman the bigger of the 2 dog puppies dragged a 2.5Kg bag of potatoes the full length of the kitchen (10 metres), I think he was practising for bringing an antelope home! Prespective owners have been coming to choose their puppies. Still one or two puppies available. All puppies are now registered with The Kennel Club GB. More puppy pics.

| 8/11/02 | All puppy registration papers arrived from The Kennel Club. Each puppy now has a five generation pedigree record. New owners receive six weeks free insurance for their puppy when they register with The Kennel Club. |
| 15/11/02 | Mark our vet came to check all puppies on Monday, when they were eight weeks old, and pronounced everyone fit and well. Then he gave them their first vaccination and inserted an Identichip into each one. First puppy went to her new owner on Thursday. |
| 1/12/02 | Most of the puppies have gone to their new owners. The reports coming back after the puppy has arrived in their new home are very reassuring. All have settled well and are much admired.
We have two of the best puppies still available. |
| 15/12/02 | Have been installing new computer, if anyone emailed us on 14th. or 15th. December we may have lost the email, Please resend. Puppies have all had their second vaccination now. Will put up some more photos when I have time, i.e. soon! |
